OPGW Cable

(OPGW) Optical Fiber Composite Overhead Ground Wire

SKU OPGW-001 Categories , Tag

OPGW cable uses all metal materials, which has good mechanical and environmental properties. It’s suitable for high voltage electric lines over 110kv. The cable structures are commonly central tube and stranded types.

  • Relatively large cable diameter, can design large fiber counts
  • Stable constructive, high reliability
  • Good tensile and large short circuit electricity capacity
  • can match with normal ground wire
  • Comply with IEC, IEEE, DL/T 832-2003, GB/T 7424.4-2003 standards
Edit Content

OPGW is a overhead ground cable with built-in fibers, owing mutual functions of overhead ground cable and optical communication. It’s mainly applied to communication lines which cross 110kV, 22kV, 500kV, 750kV and new built aerial high voltage power transmission system. It also can be used to replace existed ground cable in old aerial high voltage power transmission system, and increasing new optical communication lines, transporting short circuit electricity and protecting it from thunder.

Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) – The Ultimate Solution for Utility Communications

Optical Ground Wire, or OPGW, is a cutting-edge technology that integrates both grounding and fiber optic communication capabilities into a single overhead cable. Designed for high-voltage transmission lines ranging from 110kV to 750kV, OPGW offers a versatile and cost-effective solution for modern utility communication needs.

Characteristics
  • Stainless steel tubes filled with hydrophobic gel provide the protection and support of the optical fibres
  • Accurate process control ensures good mechanical and temperature performances
  • Larger diameter, larger fibre count
  • Stable structure and high reliability
  • High tensile strength and large short time current capacity to reach optimum balance of mechanical and electrical properties
